Copier Installation on Leopard (10.5) Macs

Copier Consideration means using "Secured Printing". You print with the "Secured Print" option, and your job is stored in the copier until you go and pick it up. That way you don't interrupt someone in front of the copier, and you can keep confidential documents confidential.

At your computer

Install the driver

1. You need download the correct copier driver before you can print. Use this driver:

PS-Leopard-Installer.zip

2. Install the software with all the defaults. You will need to reboot before continuing.

Add the Copier

  1. Add the printer by clicking Apple, System Preferences and choosing Print & Fax:

  2. Click on the + sign to add printer:

  3. Click on More Printers.

  4. Select "Canon IP".
  5. In Printers Address, type in the right copier name, such as: sed-copy-343-bw-1

  6. Click Add

Now the copier is installed. When you go to print, you need to select "Secured Print".

Use Secured Print

After the copier is installed, you can follow the following steps to print a document with secured print method:

  1. Open a target file and click on File and Print. Select the copier and click the little blue triangle to the right to get to the advanced features.

  2. Click on the bottom most drop down box and choose Special Features

  3. Set the Job Process to Secured Print

  4. Press the Print button.

  5. Enter your Department ID and password.

  6. Enter a document name, a user name, and a password that you make up and click on OK to print:
