BU SED-IT Quick Sheet
New to BU?
- If you are new to BU, you need to get your ID Card at 25 Buick St, and go to 111 Cummington St to get your email/kerberos account. Without this email username and password, you are pretty much stuck.
Getting IT Help

Your Computer
- Every Faculty and Staff member gets their own computer. In general, you get your choice of PC or Mac. If a computer has not been provided to you, or is not to you liking, please contact SED-IT. In general, you need a BU email address before we set up your computer.
Connecting to the Internet
- For wired connections, plug into the lower left port of a "quad" on the wall. At least one port in the room should be active. For wireless, connect to the 123 network, try to pull up a web page, and then download the VPN.
Connecting to Email
SED-IT will have set up your email access when your computer was set up. If you want to change your email client, please see http://sed-it.bu.edu/email
Connecting from Home
If you have an internet connection from home, you can do everything from home that you can do from your desktop. If you can't connect to a resource, get and use the VPN: http://www.bu.edu/pcsc/vpn/
Printing
There are community printers on every floor. Your computer should have been set up with the nearest one. For more information see: http://sed-it.bu.edu/printers
Your Phone
