Software
Various software packages, such as SPSS, are available for a variety of prices, from free to $$$. Please see Research Software.
Network Storage Resources
SED-IT can provide group file shares on a network server. Please contact sed-it@bu.edu with a short description of the research, the name of the research project, and a list of BU e-mail addresses of associated faculty and graduate students.
Please note for human research subject data, these shares are accessible to SED-IT, ENG-IT, and OIT-Operations backup administrators.
FileMaker Server Hosting
SED-IT can host your FileMaker database. You can then access the data with your Kerberos username and password. Other benefits of the FileMaker server can be found on our FileMaker page.

Notes on HIPAA
HIPAA is the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. It governs how many organizations that work with health insurance, are paid by health insurance, or recieve information from HIPAA covered entities may handle that data.
