User File Shares

Engineering Cluster

These directories are located on the engna1 server (aka \\ad\eng for PCs) in the "users" share.

All BU users ahve access to their BU User Directory hosted on the engineering cluster. You have a quota of 10 GB.

If you have never accessed this resource, or another on AD, please run SED WebNew first: http://www.bu.edu/computing/accounts/ad/sed

First Letter / Second Letter / BU Name System

"joeuser" would have their directory in \users\j\o\joeuser.

Roaming Profiles

As these user directories are used for roaming profiles, it is suggested that you have the same structure for your user directories on your local machine and the network share.

For instance,

c:\documents and settings\joeuser\desktop on the local machine

is

\\ad\eng\users\j\o\joeuser\desktop on the file share

Connecting from a PC

For PCs, Click Start, Run, and type in: \\ad\eng\users\j\o\joeuser
